TEACHINGS - THE AURA
TThe word Aura means protection, and as used in this writing means the atmosphere surrounding persons and objects. There are as many kinds of Auras as there are planes of being. Few people can sense beyond the emotional, physical, and material, through some may become aware of the higher etheric and spiritual auras.
The function of the Aura is to protect. Many impressions are received through It with rise in consciousness, such as feelings of mental discomfort, intuition vision. It is possible, by directing thought, to surround oneself with an Auric shield, and keep out unpleasant or disturbing influences.
The etheric body is a replica of the physical, but it must not be confused with the soul body, which belongs to a higher plane. Our etheric double is perishable and disintegrates with the physical body on death. When seen clairvoyantly, It is a well defined light edging the physical in which can be seen hair-like lines or rays, which, when the body is healthy, stand out clear and rigid. In a body affected by disease the lines droop and look lifeless, Clairvoyant diagnosis of disease can be given by anyone who has learned to discriminate and discern the signs in the health Aura. Some diseases are said to begin in the etheric body. This body is the vehicle of sensation and is connected with the soul body.
The etheric Aura varies in appearances with the development of the individual, It indicates his character, to the discriminating; it reveals much of his past and gives an intimation of the future. One may have a very poor etheric Aura and a well developed soul Aura. Health of the soul does not depend on the health of the body. While a weak unhealthy body will have a poor health aura the soul aura may indicate fine spiritual advancement.
In an undeveloped person, the soul Aura will be undefined in shape. Colors in the soul Aura indicate, according to their purity, the state of spiritual health. In the undeveloped person the aura is coarse and dull looking. The colors are not bright and clear. It does not follow that an undeveloped person is evil; it could be that he has many worries, or is learning lessons related to the more material earth plane. The Aura of the undeveloped man will be seen to be unstable as it is often a storm-center. Because of the difference in the use of the mental powers, his Aura will usually have dull shades of browns, grays, reds, with some deep orange and maybe a dull sludgy green, and be unbalanced in outline.
The aura of the thinker is more orderly in arrangement, refined in color and definite in outline. The clear red indicates energy! Pure green shows sociability, and the ability to "go with the flow" or to adapt to change. The browns are touched with gold revealing clear thinking, with hope and trust. Varied orange from reddish orange indicating earthly ambitions, to the gold of the spiritual thinker. These colors can also be seen rising from the head, forming a halo. Clear stable colors above the head indicate advancing souls and the life lessons they chose to learn. Violet/purple/indigo indicates spiritual wisdom and understanding. Rose pink, refined affections, gold the ability to tap into ones own wisdom. Green, relating to people, animals, and the environment. Light blue, compassion, empathy, and caring for others. The Aura is rarely at rest but in the spiritually developed person it is not stormy. Its movement is more orderly.
The extent of the Aura differs with each person, in some being only a few inches, in others many yards. Expansion of the Aura is some indication of. growth, but an unspiritual man may have a large Aura, especially if he indulges in psychic practices. "The Brothers of the Left Path" are not deficient in Aura, which, because of its gravity can be very powerful on the lower planes. They are confined in their action to the area of repulsion in the lower desire world. This is the region of sorcery, the realm of inversion and ultimate death.
The Aura is also revealed at times through the sense of smell. A person disposed to evil gives off the odor of putrescence and decay. The Aura of the spiritual person is perfumed and acts as a stimulant to those who are sensitive to it. We feel restful in the presence of good, if we are aspiring, but to the evilly disposed the presence of a good man is a rebuke and makes them uncomfortable. Thus the Aura can be seen, felt, and smelled, but with most people it can only be sensed.
On the higher planes the Aura indicates our affinities. It makes life more orderly and as we progress, so do we have corresponding changes take place in our Auras. While the function of our Aura is to protect and help us find our right conditions, it is also a register of our inward states. In the Auras there are centers of power, in which the light glows with finer radiance and power, These centers are linked together by fine lines of light, which outline the human form. A well-defined Aura is egg shaped, but with advanced souls the rays radiate to a great distance.
Auric contact plays a great part in life, especially in all forms of psychic development, for it is through our Auras that our friends from the other side act upon us. In daily life men are influenced to some extent by auric emanations about them. The strong willed man can direct the currents of his mind to dominate the will of others, but the true master never resorts to the methods of the world but seeks by silent, potent powers to aid all who are in need of help.
Just as we breathe the atmosphere of the earth, so may we breathe the etheric and soul atmosphere. By right living we can enrich the Aura of the Earth, which in turn gives back greater power. World agitation affects the world Aura, us so let us give out only the good and the true.
